December 2008 Monthly Mileage; 2008 Recap

by Andrea Hill on December 31, 2008 · Comments

in Monthly Mileage

Had a good month, logging 189.26 miles. I took 6 days off, so that’s an average of 7.57 miles per run. I spent 26:57 running – that’s almost 27 HOURS of running, wowza!
Overall I feel really strong. Even during the week of my highest mileage (57), my average pace was above 8:40 on every run.

As for 2008, I finished up the year having run 1705 miles. I ran 322 days out of the year (my new years resolution to run every day except for the day after marathons held until August).
2008 was the year I BQed at Boston, I ran my 20th marathon and I shaved 1:45 off my 50K PR. I moved to Colorado, and am hoping to see an improvement in my running because of it!

  • no biggie. maybe i've already asked and my memory really stinks. but glad you found a great opportunity job- and running-wise! i would love to train out there so i could (theoretically) come back home and beat even more people. lol. it's cool that you actually followed through with a big move too... also something i want to do but haven't yet. ah well.

Oh no, I mean I thought I responded to this post, but it isn’t showing up.

I moved to Ohio in 01 from Western Canada, and then to Colorado in 08, so I’ve had a few big moves. It’s kinda hard to settle in, but ah well..
  • solid month and great average pace! '08 was good to you. 322 days sounds like a lot! i think i only made it 275 or so. did you move to colorado for running reasons? or for something else and running will just so happen to benefit from it too... just curious :)

    Odd… I thought I responded earlier?

I decided that I wanted to move out of Ohio, so I started looking out in the Pacific Northwest: Oregon, Washington State.. then I found this great job opportunity in Colorado and I figured that would satisfy a few personal goals :)
